This YouTube video by CJ Pony Parts provides a basic overview of safety equipment to have nearby, protective gear to wear, and proper use of tools during repairs.

The Rockford Mutual Insurance Company website highlights the most commonly occurring injuries experienced by Automotive mechanics and technicians in shops. Some of the featured hazards include dangerous chemicals and machinery, spills, and flying/falling debris. This article provides tips to prevent becoming injured while on the job. 

While a career in auto repair can be rewarding, it can also be dangerous with hazardous chemicals, spills/slips, heavy equipment, and flammable materials. The Porter and Chester Institute provides information about several important safety tips. This includes personal protective gear to wear, how to keep your shop organized, floor care, vehicle safety, and chemical cautions to keep in mind. 

OSHA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, is a government agency with connections to the United States Department of Labor. OSHA's goal is to ensure safe and healthy working conditions free from retaliation for American workers by establishing standards and advancing safety and health protections nationwide. This particular webpage  highlights the OSHA regulations regarding potential physical and chemical hazards present in auto repair shops. 

This resource from the Markel Insurance Company website is a checklist for auto repair shop safety. It includes such topics as Automotive Lifts, Garage Exposures, Flammable Liquid Storage, Power Tools, and so much more. It does not contain every known safety and compliance procedures for repair shops, but is a great start in helping shop owners create their own checklists to keep their employees and customers safe. 

The Rural Mutual Insurance Company provides a brief overview of safety tips so auto mechanics and other employees can avoid injury in the shop. Featured tips include protective gear to wear on the job, keeping the space clean and organized, ensuring equipment is regularly inspected, and to avoid smoking, eating or drinking in the shop.
